The California Council of the Blind (CCB) invites nominations for its annual Convention Awards. These awards recognize individuals, organizations, and leaders whose service, advocacy, and leadership advance the rights, opportunities, and independence of people who are blind or visually impaired. Pursuant to the CCB Bylaws, resolutions must be submitted 30 days prior to the CCB convention. Thus, to be considered at the 2026 Convention, we must receive resolutions by March 31, 2026. Please send resolutions to either Gabe Griffith at:

From the Silicon Valley Council of the blind:
The Silicon Valley Council of the Blind is seeking applicants for our annual Barbara Rhodes access technology grant.
The purpose of this grant is to ensure greater economic opportunity and a richer quality of life for those who are visually impaired or blind. SVCB will award a grant of up to $1,000 to visually impaired or blind individuals who can best demonstrate the need for access technology that will improve their quality of life or advance their educational and/or employment opportunities.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and reside in one of the following counties: Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, or San Benito. To learn more about this grant or to submit an application, visit
