As many of you know, a long-time leader in this organization, Louis Preston, passed away on New Year's Day. For several months Louis was battling complications that arose from gall bladder surgery. As friend, colleague, adviser, chapter president, and member of the CCB board of directors, so many of us have extraordinarily fond memories of Louis. A great family man, outstanding long-time employee in the state university system, and committed CCB member, Louis always had the time to offer soft-spoken and prudent counsel to those who sought it. As a board member, Louis didn't speak overmuch, but when he did his passion and wisdom were impossible to underestimate. Our condolences to his wife and family. Services for Louis will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 9th at the New Hope Baptist Church in Long Beach.
