We Take a Closer Look

What is CCCLV?

We are visually impaired Californians who have joined together as consumers to advocate for ourselves by:

1. Educating the public and professionals about the capabilities and needs of persons with Low Vision.

2. Providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information about living successfully with Low Vision.

3. Promoting the right of Low Vision persons to make full use of their remaining vision through the use of visual aids, services and technology.

CCCLV: Low Vision Californians Advocating for Ourselves

Why Join CCCLV?

If you are either:

A person with Low Vision,

A parent, relative or friend of a person with Low Vision,

Or a provider of products or services to persons with Low Vision,

Membership in CCCLV will bring you:

Assistance in solving individual Low Vision Challenges.

Subscriptions to three periodicals dealing with issues of interest to the Low Vision community and to professionals in the field.

Membership in the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International, the California Council of the Blind and the American Council of the Blind.

Advocacy and representation before state and national legislatures and government agencies.

CCCLV Is Active

Twice a year we meet in conventions to:

1. Provide a mutual support network for persons with Low Vision.

2. Formulate and clarify the specific concerns of Low Vision persons and to seek support for these issues from our two parent organizations, the California Council of the Blind and the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International.

Between meetings we keep in touch by phone and newsletter, sharing our experiences, our challenges and our solutions.
