LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 640, as introduced, Dutra. Categorical programs: funding.
Existing law establishes various categorical aid programs under
which funding is provided for specific educational purposes.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to make the
California Schools for the Deaf and the California School for the
Blind eligible for all categorical funding programs that are
available to school districts.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to make the
California Schools for the Deaf and the California School for the
Blind eligible for all categorical funding programs that are
available to school districts.
